My thoughts:

Jack Jack Jack *shakes head* It is hard to like someone who is not honest. And I do want to kick him in the nuts.

Rebecka, oh she made SUCH a mistake. Damn girl, that was so stupid. But 4 years later she is a widow wondering if she should have some fun.

They meet. There is lots of passion in their story. They mess up. There is drama. Dishonesty, me wanting to kick him in the nuts. But all in all, they do care for each other, but there is that one big issue that you know will mess it all up.

Conclusion:
A nice story set before xmas. Not that much xmas in it, but hey still a xmas book.

My thoughts:

You got lucky there Cam, I started this book on Thursday, but then the 4 day weekend came around and I forgot how much of an asshat Cam was ;)...just sayin'

Esme writes smexy novels, and sneaks out to brothels to talk to the ladies and get stories for her books. Wait! And no one notices? Her brother is a Duke! He should check his grounds better. And she could have been raped and killed just going there. She sure has drive, you can say that.

Cam is a part of the Highland Knights. Serve and protect the crown. His dad is a silly old fart, and his sister is disowned for some reason. He has family issues to say the least.

They meet *coughs* Aye they sure meet. He fancies her. She lets go of anything she has been told pretty fast.

He does some stalking...what? That is the part that softened over a long weekend when I did not read this book. He does do some creepy stalking. Or others would call it alpha male brings home the woman .

And then there is a suspense part because someone is after the knights. I did not guess who, my bad.

Conclusion:

It was a nice historical romance. 

I do hope Cam's sister finds love. But Cam, you were a bit too alpha for me.

This was an example on a novella that did not really work.

It happened too fast. I had no idea what went wrong between them. It all starts at Waterloo, a married couple are estranged for some reason, I did not care why, I did not really understand why...

The woman was named something, she was dull, the guy was named something, he was a highlander. And he got a new job and they lived happily ever after...and I never understood why.

Yawn, this one was barely ok.

A doctor gets a phonecall, her friend is dead. She will get to the bottom of this! She meets a sexy cop. He in investigates. Then they live happily ever after.

My thoughts:

Wow, talk about dilemma! Sophie loves Tristan and is happy but...*music of doom* While they are doing it her husband rushes in. Yes her husband who has been dead for 7 years. He is her legal hubby then. But, she loves Tristan. But she also loves Gareth, her first love.

Ok so you see the dilemma. She is in love with 2 men. And it's not her fault since Gareth went missing at Waterloo. She did not even re-marry that long ago. It really tore at the heartstrings, but yes I was team Tristan. She loved, she lost and she loved again. Tristan was awesome, and deserved a hug.

Gareth, no, I did not feel it. But then he had ISSUES. And first love, well, she grew up, they were not right for each other anymore.

All in all, a great book. I had suddenly read 200 pages, the next day, same thing happened. Romance, struggle, and drama promised, plus danger.

Conclusion:

On another note. I have read book 2 and I do want to read book 3 too. A good series.

My thoughts:
This was certainly a different sort of love story, it was also kind of slow, but do not get me wrong. I do not mean that in a bad way. I am just saying they mostly kept calm and they did not hurry.

Serena was 18 when she fell for Jonathan who was just as young. They loved, and then when the scandal broke he shunned her. She left with a broken heart and who could blame her for that. Now she is back but pretending to be her twin Meg who is dead. She is marrying her sister's fiancé. I can't blame her because her reputation is ruined and she could never make a match on her own. She also wants to help her sisters and her mother. They are poor and not finding worthy men back home. But still yes I do feel sorry for poor Will who wants to marry his Meg. Still I also admire Serena for going through with this to save her sisters even if the way doing so is wrong.

As for Jonathan, he has also served his punishment, but I do understand him too. He was young and his father and  brother managed to get to him. Still he loved her and the things he has done the last 6 years to drown his sorrows. Well his time is served.

As you can see this is not an easy love story. Jonathan is friends with Will and would never want to hurt him, and neither does Serena. And she can't come out as Serena either because the ton still remember too well. But I need these two to be together, they love each other still so much.

There is also a second story in this book. Serena has her younger sister Phoebe with her, and what can I say. They are a scandalous bunch it seems.

It is a book about falling in love again, about doing what you want, and also about forgiveness.

Conclusion:
A good start to this new series and I like these sisters (oh and I also cling to the hope that Meg is still alive, a girl can hope.) There is also passion, and who does not enjoy that.

Review: A touch of Scandal - Jennifer Haymore

First it annoyed me so much, secondly I loved it. Haha, yes I seldom think HR is better than ok, but this one, it just sucked me in.

Kate is spying on a man bathing, and has for many days. Then they finally speak, and she is just silly and naive. Telling him she loves him and can feel his heart. Wanting to throw away her innocence right there and then. And later, telling him that she knows he will do the right thing. Well yeah, even your lover can be a crazy murdering rapist when you are not around. But she trust him. That was one thing that annoyed me, how fast this happened and how love was just floating around in the air. Then there was this scene were one was tied up in shackles, and they did some things. In a dirty dungeon, gross.

Ok now I got those things that annoyed me out in the open and I can move on.

When things annoy me I usually do not love the book as much as I did. But the easy language of hers, that just made me wanna read more and more, had me at once. And then there was the story, a good story that made you wonder and turn.

Because Kate is working for her own brother as a servant, a brother that eloped with the duke of Calton's sister. The duke is pissed and after revenge, and seems to enjoy bathing in this little pool. So yes major conflicts at once there. First, can he love his enemy's sister, and then the huge class difference between those two.

Kate is a sweet girl, even though I did find her naive, but hey first naked guy she has sees, and he looks like a god, so of  course some feelings awake in her. And she wants to strip naked too. And Garret, all torn and dark, brooding, and angry. He thinks that she is plain and dressed ugly. But she is what he needs.

I am rambling I think. Ok, I started reading (got annoyed yes), read on, and could not stop. Truly enjoyed this tale. Even with the true love at once and dungeon sex.

I think I am glad that I did not read the book before this one. Where Garrett comes home after 8 years to find his wife married to his cousin. By reading like this I could fall for him, and like him even if it seems he made plenty of mistakes in that previous book that is about his cousin and his wife.
