My thoughts:

This is the last book about the witches since they have all found love now. I always liked Sorcha, from the start when I met her in the Lycan series to this series. She always wanted what her friends got, a lycan of her own. And that is what she sets her sights on in this book, the Hadley brothers to be precise. 

Sorcha is always so kind and sweet, and funny too. She has matured a lot during these books, but she still has that stubborn streak that makes her who she is. And when she wants a lycan she wants a lycan. Because of who she is she might just be my favourite witch of them all. Alec then, well when I first met him he was running after Cait and was quite the fool. Then he became a vampyre and got all broody and sexy. He still thinks he will never find love again, but he still wants to protect Sorcha from the dogs. And these two together, well I am happy to see Alec find love and for Sorcha to finally fall in love. They do make a good couple.

When this series is finished I am happy that I know that there will be more. Another lycan trilogy with the bad boys of the ton. I can't wait. I do like Lydia Dare's books, they are fun, they are sweet and I like that there is more to come.

Even if you have not read this series you can still jump right in. Or start at the beginning of this series, or just go back and start with the Lycan one. If you want to read a cute paranormal historical then this might just do the trick. And if you have read the other books then you will surely like this one too.

Conclusion:

A sweet ending to this vampire series. Just what I wanted.

But when Rhiannon encounters Matthew again, her powers go awry and his supernatural abilities run amok. Between the two of them, the ton is thrown into an uproar. There's never been a more tempestuous scandal.

My thoughts:

This book is a part of a series but you can read it as a standalone. But if you really want to dive into this world then I recommend the 4 Westfield Wolves books first to get to know our dear lycans and witches. But this series of course belong to the vampires.

Matthew Halkett is old, he has seen it all. He is this steady figure of reason and at the same time one tempting delicious vampire. I am drawn to him as a moth to a flame and much of has to do with how fast he falls for Rhiannon. Sure he has doubts but then he is a vampire who will live forever, while she is an innocent who will not. Oh yes Rhiannon, a Scottish witch with a temper. She can command thunder and lightning and sure does when she gets angry. And she is not afraid of a vampire when she has that at her command.

This world is lovely and cosy somehow. I already know the Lycans  (love them) and in this book we meet more. I sure hope Dare writes their story too because they are a fun bunch. The witches are fun and now when Rhiannon has found her man there is only Sorcha left and I can't wait for her story..and, oh just read the blurb. The vampires are a great addition to this world and I really enjoyed the banter between Matthew and the 4 Lycans he came across more times than he wanted. There is nothing like a brood of werewolves telling a vampire to back down ;)

The book has got a bit of humour, great friendships and passion. I did like how Matthew tried his best to be the perfect gentleman. Just a reason to like him even more.

Conclusion:

Lydia Dare does not disappoint. She (well they do) does it again and gives me a book that I read and time just disappears. There is always something that makes me want to read the next page and on. It kept me entertained and I read it in a heartbeat.

Review: It happened One Bite - Lydia Dare

Blaire Lindsay's been warned that her ancestral home is haunted. But it will take more than tales of a ghost to frighten Blaire, a battle-born witch with supernatural strength and the ability to make sparks fly from her fingertips. Hearing spectral wails, she decides to search for their source, and is surprised to find a handsome young man chained to the dungeon wall. But when Blair frees James from his bonds, she quickly discovers she's unloosed far more than she could ever have imagined. Soon the castle is overrun with vampires whose perfect manners and compelling blood lust make for some very awkward moments, and Blair and James are joined in the fight of their lives to save everything they hold dear from the forces of evil.

My thoughts:

I liked the werewolf books by Lydia Dare and I was curious about the vampire series and reading more about the witches. I never thought it, but I ended up liking this book even more than previous books.

In this book is Blaire's turn to find love. She can fight like a man, and she is not a lady even though her brother wants it. For that I did like Blaire, she was herself, she was strong and she was not about to let a man tell her what to do. Then there is James, the hero of the book, a vampyre that has been imprisoned in a dungeon for 20 years, put their by Blaire's mum and her coven. Even though he does hold a grudge, he is a sweet vamp.

But honestly the person I was the most fascinated by is Matthew Halkett, a very old vampire and who will be in the next book. I can't wait for his story.

Back to the book. James is hungry and not just for blood since he wants Blaire for more. They do their little dance. Then two more vampires show up and they are not nice at all. They want death and blood. There is danger, passion and at the end we meet up with old friends. Sorcha, who still love to flirt, Elspeth and Benjamin, and Alex, I am starting to get a bit interested in him, he is turning into something nice.

The best part about this book is that I just wanted more. I kept turning page after page to find out what is going to happen. The book has no dull moments and there is a flow, and you just want more.

Conclusion:

Dare manages to create a new fun series. Old friends, and no you do not need to have read the werewolf books, passion, magic and vampires. A fast read that I enjoyed.
