Early Review: The Dare and the Doctor - Kate Noble

Dr. Rhys Gray and Miss Margaret Babcock are friends—strictly friends. My thoughts:

I liked Rhys and Margaret. He was really focused on being a doctor, she loved her plants. She was a total nerd for plants. They are penpals in a time when a single woman and a single man weren't. But it is sort of a scientific correspondence so that works ;)

But they are just friends.

And then she goes to London to show off her roses.

And you know when you meet someone for real then it's just better.

Friends are sure good to have. Good to banter with, flirt with, dance with.

Yes there is a fun dance between these two, but always there is an obstacle in their way, but when that is over they can all live happily ever after.

It was a fun and cute book

My thoughts:

The premise is...well I honestly want to kick Ned and John in a very private place. The game was a really crappy thing to come up with.

They change places, John Turner pretends to be an Earl. But he will start to fall for someone and he is just a miller (but his book is book 2.) He does seem like a good person except when he tries to ruin things for Ned.

Ned, oh yes, he is way too sure of himself and is all look at me. Now he has to pretend to be a secretary. And win the hand of a lady of birth. But how he bumbles along. Still, he does learn not to be so arrogant. But you know, he is an ass at first.

Pheobe then, she is a governess. Her dad died after losing their money. She is angry at a certain lord and drama!

Conclusion:
I still liked it cos Ned does change and he genuinely likes her. It was a sweet book.

Together, they reluctantly embark on finding her cousin and returning her to her family. During their searching in London, it soon becomes clear that they both remember their short-lived romance differently and perhaps now, years later, they have a fresh chance at love. 

My thoughts:

This was a cute and funny novella. Yes there has been a misunderstanding, but it was not dragged out forever, they actually talked and understood that there had been a misunderstanding. I know, it's hard to believe, but people talk about things in this book.

We have Cecilia who eloped at 16, and now lives with her sister and ass of a brother in law. But it's a good enough life, she does like teaching. She can not forgive the one she eloped with.

Theo was the one she eloped with and he can not forgive her either.

They meet again. They need to find Cecilia's cousin. They talk, they flirt and live happily ever after.

Conclusion:
It was cute, short and nice. Noble does not disappoint.
