DNF time

Boring. She should have focused on Lucy, I read a lot and have no idea who Lucy is. The queen got her POV, blah blah got a POV. Yawn

This one I really tried with, I even made it to 160, but nothing had happened except for her sulking over a boy.
No worldbuilding either

I was bored. And why was she in a prison for men? I get it after reading on, but still that is just silly and unbelievable

Eh, I did not care for it

It felt choppy

So this was one of those the narrator did not work.
She sounded like a robot. She talked too fast. My ears did NOT like it

  1. Sorry they were stinkers for you.

  2. Sometimes a DNF is the best thing to do. I just finished a book that I really didn't like. Now I wished I had just stopped when I first thought about it.

    1. The worst thing is reading a whole book and just hating it and then hating the time spent on it

  3. Yep. Narrators make or break a book so I can see why you've flounced on the last book. I've done a few of those myself and opted to read instead of listen.

    Have a nice weekend!

  5. Hmmm, lots of reasons and yes, those issues would do it for me as well.

    Onward. :)

  6. Sounds like a good decision to stop reading each one.

  7. I liked the Black Company. I read it a while ago, so I don't know about the choppy thing. Sorry that you didn't like it.

  8. So many DNFs. There didn't seem a point in finishing any of them.

  9. Sorry to hear you did not enjoy these. You made the right choice though, as spending time reading a book you are not enjoying is the worst thing to do.

  10. I'm not a fan of Danielle Paige either because as you said, she doesn't put enough world building into her stories!

  13. I don't even remember that Nalini book - was it a novella in an anthology?

  14. I've heard Acid wasn't so hot. Shame. Sounded like it could be good. Always enjoy these. :)

  15. I love the cover of Acid. Sorry these didn't work out for you. I love the Nalini Singh books. I even like the narrator. I think she fits the Psy a lot. I always speed up the playback too. LOL
