DNF time
Boring. She should have focused on Lucy, I read a lot and have no idea who Lucy is. The queen got her POV, blah blah got a POV. Yawn
This one I really tried with, I even made it to 160, but nothing had happened except for her sulking over a boy.
No worldbuilding either
I was bored. And why was she in a prison for men? I get it after reading on, but still that is just silly and unbelievable
Eh, I did not care for it
It felt choppy
So this was one of those the narrator did not work.
She sounded like a robot. She talked too fast. My ears did NOT like it

Ugh.
ReplyDeleteYay for getting rid of them
DeleteSorry they were stinkers for you.
ReplyDeleteIt happens
DeleteSometimes a DNF is the best thing to do. I just finished a book that I really didn't like. Now I wished I had just stopped when I first thought about it.
ReplyDeleteThe worst thing is reading a whole book and just hating it and then hating the time spent on it
DeleteYep. Narrators make or break a book so I can see why you've flounced on the last book. I've done a few of those myself and opted to read instead of listen.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
I just could not. It was so horrible
DeleteSorry to hear these didn't work out. On to better ones! :)
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteHmmm, lots of reasons and yes, those issues would do it for me as well.
ReplyDeleteOnward. :)
Oh yes onward
DeleteSounds like a good decision to stop reading each one.
ReplyDeleteI liked the Black Company. I read it a while ago, so I don't know about the choppy thing. Sorry that you didn't like it.
ReplyDeleteIt just felt messy and not for me
DeleteSo many DNFs. There didn't seem a point in finishing any of them.
ReplyDeleteI have had lots of library books
DeleteSorry to hear you did not enjoy these. You made the right choice though, as spending time reading a book you are not enjoying is the worst thing to do.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, I am glad to be rid of them
DeleteI'm not a fan of Danielle Paige either because as you said, she doesn't put enough world building into her stories!
ReplyDeleteAs this was my first I did not know that
Delete:( I wanted to read Stealing Snow, now you have me worried.
ReplyDeleteMaybe u will like it
DeleteMeh on the bad narrator.
ReplyDelete:/
Deleteoh some more DNF's....sorry to hear about Singh's book though, sometimes narrators can really put me off a book.
ReplyDeleteWell it was a short story, pretty sure it was like 30 pages at most in rl
DeleteI don't even remember that Nalini book - was it a novella in an anthology?
ReplyDeleteI honestly do not know...I guess
DeleteI've heard Acid wasn't so hot. Shame. Sounded like it could be good. Always enjoy these. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was badly done
DeleteI love the cover of Acid. Sorry these didn't work out for you. I love the Nalini Singh books. I even like the narrator. I think she fits the Psy a lot. I always speed up the playback too. LOL
ReplyDeleteMelanie @ Hot Listens & Rabid Reads
I just could not listen to her, blergh
