Audio Book Challenge and TMST Best books of 2017

2018 Audiobook Challenge

Challenge Details

  • Runs January 1, 2018 – December 31, 2018. You can join at anytime.
  • The goal is to find a new love for audios or to outdo yourself by listening to more audios in 2018 than you did in 2017.
  • Books must be in audio format (CD, MP3, etc.)
  • ANY genres count.
  • Re-reads and crossovers from other reading challenges are allowed.
  • You do not have to be a book blogger to participate; you can track your progress on Goodreads, Facebook, LibraryThing, etc.
  • If you’re a blogger grab the button and do a quick post about the challenge to help spread the word. If you’re not a blogger you can help by posting on Facebook or Tweeting about the challenge.
  • Updates plus a giveaway will be posted twice during the year. First update in June 30, 2018 and last update in December 15, 2018.

Levels

  • Newbie (I’ll give it a try) 1-5
  • Weekend Warrior (I’m getting the hang of this) 5-10
  • Stenographer (can listen while multi-tasking) 10-15
  • Socially Awkward (Don’t talk to me) 15-20
  • Binge Listener (Why read when someone can do it for you) 20-30
  • My Precious (I had my earbuds surgically implanted) 30+
  • Marathoner (Look Ma No Hands) 50+
I did not think I would do as well as I did this year (will post about that later this year), but what a audio year! I am a bit afraid to go for Marathoner, but what the H! I will!! I really have fallen in love with audio.

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post on Rainy Day Ramblings where Rainy discuss a wide range of topics from books to blogging. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog.

December 19th Best Books of 2017

Howl because it was so funny. Every Heart gets best novella by far. Strange the Dreamer cos she sure always writes a strong first book. To the Bridge Edge best fiction of the year. The Bear for its fantastic fairytaleness. Irresistible you most amazing contemporary. The Heart for the story it managed in just novella format. Spellslinger for it's lightness and Nice Dragons for the laughs.

And Top 2 goes to these two-

Gather The Daughters stayed with me and damn it was twisted. You all have to read it.

Asking for it also stayed with me and was so emotionally draining listening too. I still feel her hurt in my soul. This one you have to listen to.

  2. I still can't make it through an audio book. I updated my library card so I might try a different genre before giving up for good.

  15. Oh man, I would be a newbie in that challenge. I listen to audiobooks when I take the pup for a walk or if I have a longish drive ahead of me. Other than that, I'm a reader. Good luck on the challenge though! I'm sure you will hit the marathoner mark before the new... next... before 2019 starts. LoL

  16. I really loved Laini Taylor but that ending. Every Heart a Doorway was terrific but I read that last year, still need to read the sequel. I also enjoyed Bear and The NIghtingale. Some great picks up there. Happy holidays!
